Loads of things happen on set. The actual filming, special effects that add on to the film, the props on set, etc. And with so many things happening in one space, some things are bound to go wrong. Thats why it is important to have proper film set safety precautions. And it is important that your crew and actors are safe no matter what happens (ultimately, we are all humans right?).

What should you do then to ensure that you are on schedule and everyone gets to live another day? Here’s a little video that the awesome people at RocketJump Film School did that breaks down the basics of film set safety.

Making films can be loads of fun, however, it is important to remember that the people that are on set with you are working WITH you and not FOR you. With a proper production process and planning, you can make sure they leave the set at the end of the day with a big smile on their faces and not with missing parts.

Always remember, a safe crew is a happy crew!
